Theater Education
Miles has received world class training for live theater from prestigious institutions across California. Starting at the Paso High Theater Company he gained formal training from both shows and musicals. He then received rigorous training at Cuesta College, to which the company performed at The Kennedy National Theater Festival. He studied at the University of California in Santa Barbara, where PHD professors and experienced theater makers gave him decades of knowledge and opportunities to create theater with fellow artists. He graduated with Highest Honors and a community of peers and mentors pushing him onto great adventures.
Creating Original Works
Miles has a core focus on creating, devising, and writing original works for the stage. He has dedicated his career to creating live performances that explore aspects of himself, the subjectivity of reality, and the incredible beauty of life. His main experience on stage has been in creating performances, which he has devised dozens of projects for the stage. These projects explore various aspects of live performance, character work, and "Theater".
Acting on the Stage
Miles has performed in shows like: Peter and the Star Catcher, Walk Two Moons, Puffs, Curious Incident, OEUF, and Funeral in the Rain. His physicality and character transformation are performance strong suits. Despite concentrating on Playwrighting at The University of California, he specializes in being a physical actor. His character's aren't just words, but bodies that struggle in their own ways through the story.
Musical Theater
Miles has performed in musicals like: The Music Man, The Little Mermaid, The Sound of Music, Aladdin, Curtains, Willy Wonka, Mama Mia!, and The 25th Putnam County Spelling Bee. He has received advanced training while apart of choir concerts, musical numbers, dance showcases, and solo performances.
Performance Abilities
Miles has over a decade of Theater experience, with that comes various skills and abilities suited for the stage. He has training in movement, stage lifts, acrobatics, stage combat, puppetry, pantomime, clown work, improvisation, accents, singing, dance, and physical transformation.
